Cooking from Bittman’s Pantry

Ok, so we didn't have all of the ingredients in our own pantry, but I ran downstairs to our local “supermarket” (really, it is a big bodega), watched the video, washed my hands and voilà. An easy, delicious dinner. Thank you, Mr. Bittman. Delicious.

We used panko instead of breadcrumbs.

p.s. We turned the extra chickpeas into a crunchy snack. A little oo, s & p, as my sister would say. And smoked paprika.

  1. I just watched this Bittman video - that pasta looked YUMMY! I have to try it, because Chip is on a big sardine kick.

  2. Yum! I will make this and be the only person in my family who eats it, because everyone else is a sardine-phobe, but that's okay.

  3. aahh..my first feral cook mention.

LOVE sardines. that looks delish. It amazes me how Bittmann gets it right every single time.

I need a recommendation for a brand of hot-pepper paste. I need to make korean sauce so I can eat it every day.

  4. Ha, there is a photo of the kind I usually get in the Where's The Beef post, but I just bought another brand and it tastes the same. I'd love a more natural kind but... Anyway, I just bought a 1/2 gallon tub (No joke. It was the smallest size they had) so I can give you some.
